I obtained my PhD from the University of California, Merced in the Spring of 2023. My dissertation, "Repression, Group Threat, and the Threat Environment," investigates how governments make their repressive decisions when faced with a limited repressive budget and multiple targets. My overall research agenda looks at repression, dissent, and political violence more broadly, with a focus on how members of the the public interact with and understand political violence. During the Fall of 2019, I also worked as a Visiting Researcher in the Research on Conflict and Collective Action (ROCCA) Lab at Vanderbilt University.
