Peter D. Carey II
I am a PhD candidate at the University of California, Merced in the Department of Political Science, and am currently working as a Visiting Research in the Research on Conflict and Collective Action (ROCCA) Lab at Vanderbilt University. My research focuses primarily on political violence, particularly repression and dissent. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how governments make decisions in the face of multiple actors, knowing that repressing one might take resources away from repressing others. I also conduct research looking at civil wars, international institutions, and bargaining.
